The renowned Danish/German soprano Denise Beck graduated from University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2009. In 2011 she graduated the soloist-class at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
Denise Beck had her official debut at the Volksoper Wien in 2009. Hereafter she has performed in several renowned houses, such as Bregenzer Festspiele, Salzburger Landestheater, Oslo Operan, Staatsoper Berlin, Opera City Tokyo, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Royal Opera Stockholm, Teatro Nacional Cláudio Santoro in Brasilia and many more.
Denise Beck has sung roles such as Pamina in the Magic Flute by Mozart, Grethel in Hänsel und Grethel by Humperdinck, Fiordiligi in Cosi fan Tutte by Mozart, Leonora in Maskerade by Nielsen, in 2022/23 she performed all four female roles (Olympia, Antonia, Giulietta and Stella) in Les contes d’Hoffmann by Offenbach and in 2025 she will sing her debut as Tosca by Puccini.
Her luminous and warm tembre in combination with her coloraturas make her voice extremely versatile. Thus Denise Beck has sung both Baroque, Classical, Romantic and also Avantgarde repertoire. She has performed as an operasinger as well as an Oratorio and Lied-Singer.
Among her favourite Lieder are Alban Berg‘s 7 Frühe Lieder and Richard Strauss‘ Opus 10 and Vier Lieder opus 27. Mahler´s Symphonies numbers 2 and 4 also belong among her most beloved solo-parts as well as Beethovens 9th Symphony. Denise Beck is also an enthusiastic interpreter of Danish Opera and Lieder, both wellknown as well as undiscovered and forgo en music. Thus she has recorded several Danish Operas with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra; Fete Galante by Poul Schierbeck, Maskerade by Carl Nielsen, Aladdin by C.F.E. Hornemann. Denise Beck has also recorded Danish songs by Carls Nielsen, unknown songs by Poul Schierbeck and is working on a project to perform unknown songs by Leopold van der Pals in coopera on with his great-grandson Tobias van der Pals.
Denise Beck has worked with conductors such as Jordi Savall, Michael Schönwandt, Thomas Søndergaard, Dmitri Jurowski, Zoi Tsokanu and many more. Among some of her favourite Directors are Kasper Holten, David Pountney, Keith Warner and the duo Bogdan Szyber and Carina Reich.
In 2021 Denise Beck was knighted by her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.
